Environmental Management System
Zawartość strony
The Environmental Management System implemented at the Company is evidence of the overriding goal, provided for in the Company’s strategy, to reduce the environmental impact of our operations to the lowest level possible, while minimising the ecological footprint attributable to our products.
The Environmental Management System covers the Company’s organisational units located in Płock and Warsaw as well as the fuel terminals in the logistic structures, whose operations affect the natural environment. For the first time the system was certified, by Bureau Veritas Quality International, in the Płock facilities in March 2000. In 2003, the system was recertified, and in 2004 the certification scope was expanded to include storage and sale of liquid fuels at Company-owned fuel terminals.
The Environmental Policy contains a declaration of our intention to consistently align the Company’s planning methods and business processes to the principles of sustainable development through an integrated approach to pollution control and environmental protection.
The requirements of the PN – EN ISO 14001:2004 standard transferred to the Environmental Management System support the achievement of the following objectives:
- compliance with environmental and related laws
- gradual reduction of the adverse impact of our operations on the environment through implementation of environmental tasks
- mitigation of the risk of chemical failures, and in the event of their occurrence, reduction of the consequences.
Detailed requirements of the ISO 14 001 standard concerning identification of aspects, monitoring of environmental parameters, operating controls, audits, corrective and other measures, in fact serve as tools for achieving the primary goals stated above. An additional objective is to raise the environmental awareness of our personnel carrying out tasks which affect or may affect the environment.
Currently, we hold a certificate issued by Bureau Veritas Certification, stating that our Management System meets the requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 standard. Certificate No. PL9000276/D was issued on July 23rd 2009 and expires on July 22nd 2012.
The scope of the Environmental Management System certified for compliance with the ISO 14001 standard is as follows:
- production and wholesale of refining products: gasoline motor fuels, Diesel oils, fuel oils, aromatic hydrocarbons
- storage, biofuel blending, sale of liquid fuels and heating diesel oil at owned fuel terminals
