Occupational Health and Safety Management System

The key task of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System is to support efforts aimed at improving health and safety at work by defining the requirements for an effective management system based on applicable laws, identification of hazards, and assessment of occupational risk.
The key message contained in our Occupational Health and Safety Policy is that everyone has the right to safe working conditions, which do not lead to health impairment.

On April 29th 2004, the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute granted PKN ORLEN S.A. an Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certificate. It was the first such certificate obtained by the Company. It confirmed compliance of our activities with the PN-N-18001:2004 standard in the Reforming Block and in Reforming Divisions I-V and Reforming Division VI in the area of crude oil processing, and distribution and sale of products.

The Occupational Health and Safety Management System is being successively expanded and upgraded. In 2005, the System covered all organisational units of PKN ORLEN S.A. located in Płock, and in 2008 it was effectively implemented in the administration division in Warsaw. This was confirmed by another audit and a certificate awarded in April 2009. This year the Company is implementing the system in the administrative units in Poznań, Lublin, Katowice, Trzebinia, Kielce and Gdańsk.

The scope of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System certificated for compliance with the PN-N-18 001 standard is as follows:

  • crude oil processing, distribution and sale of products.
