Quality Management System

Our care for the quality of our products meeting Customers’ needs is demonstrated by the Quality Management System in place at PKN ORLEN S.A., as well at the Quality Assurance Policy implemented in accordance with the system. In 1996, the system was certified for the first time, then in 1999 we had it re-certified by Bureau Veritas Quality International and the Polish Centre for Testing and Certification. The system was re-certified again in 2002 in terms of its compliance with the requirements of the new PN – EN ISO 9001:2001 standard. Over the following years, improvements were made to the Quality Management System. We are now proud holders of Certificate No. PL8000426, granted on December 8th 2008 by BVC and valid until December 7th 2011.

Presently, we are adapting our Quality Management System to the requirements of the PN-EN ISO 9001:2009 standard.

Within the framework of our Quality Management System, we identified and described vital and mutually related processes encompassing all areas of the Company’s operations which affect our products’ compliance with applicable requirements, such as: production and wholesale of refining products (gasoline motor fuels, Diesel oils, fuel oils and aromatic hydrocarbons), retail sale of liquid fuels and services provided by Company-owned service stations, and production and sale of petrochemicals products (gaseous fuels, petrochemicals, energy products and by-products).

Those processes which affect products’ compliance with applicable requirements and which are outsourced as part of service procurement, are subject to supervision in line with the requirements relating to procurement. The supervision is provided in accordance with relevant procedures, instructions and regulations, and pertains in particular to design, overhaul, investment, transport and laboratory services.

The scope of the Quality Management System certificated for compliance with the ISO 9001 standard is as follows:

  • production and wholesale of refining products, such as gasoline fuels, Diesel oils, fuel oils and aromatic hydrocarbons
  • retail sale of liquid fuels and services provided by Company-owned service stations
  • production and sale of petrochemical products, such as gaseous fuels, petrochemicals, energy products and by-products.
