Butadiene for industrial use

Characteristic
Technical grade butadiene is obtained through separation of the C4 post-pyrolysis fraction using the extractive distillation method in the presence of dimethylformamide (DMF) as a selective solvent.
The requirements and testing methods for technical grade butadiene are specified in the company standard ZN-ORLEN S.A.-/1:2009 - butadien techniczny (technical grade butadiene).

Applications

The main products of butadiene processing are styrene-butadiene rubber, polybutadiene and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene rubbers, latex, adiponitrile, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene co-polymers. They are further used for manufacturing of car tyres, casings of electronic equipment and household appliances, car interior elements, sporting equipment, furniture components and decorative products.
