PKN ORLEN high in EuroMoney survey

PKN ORLEN strategy among the most convincing and coherent – according to the European EuroMoney survey

According to the latest survey carried out by the EuroMoney Magazine, PKN ORLEN was named as a company with the most convincing and coherent strategy from the Central and East European “Oil and gas” sector. The Concern was placed higher  than Hungarian MOL, Austrian OMV, Russian Gazprom and Sibnieft.

This year’s edition of the poll was the second carried out for the Central and Eastern European countries. The results were based on the replies to a survey from 61 European institutions and analysts. Respondents were asked to nominate the top three companies in each of the countries or sectors they covered bearing in mind market strength, profitability, growth potential and quality of management and earnings.

In the category of the most convincing and coherent strategy, PKN ORLEN was placed second among the 60 nominated companies from all sectors of the Central and Eastern Europe. The same criteria, but among only Polish enterprises gave the Company top position. The success of the Firm is even more significant, because in the company’s strategy category ORLEN was nominated for the first time.

The experts gave high notes to PKN ORLEN also in other categories. PKN ORLEN was placed third among the companies whose strategy cohesion improved the most. The Company was also third in the category of the companies with most transparent accounts. The survey judged companies’ websites. ORLEN’s website was named fourth most useful and informative in Central and Eastern Europe.

The respondents also gave high notes to PKN ORLEN’s Management. In the category of „most accessible senior management” the Firm appeared for the first time and was already placed 8th - ex equo with two Polish banks - BPH i Pekao.

The results in an independent European survey are extremely important to PKN ORLEN. They show the degree of work which has been completed to fulfill the goals set by the Company: consequent realization of the strategy, bringing the clients the highest quality products and services and securing long term growth of the Company’s value.

High positions of PKN ORLEN in EuroMoney’s survey in „transparent accounts and most useful and informative website” are especially important for the Concern, because its principle values are transparency and Corporate Governance. The Company systematically broadens the possibilities of accessing the information about the company, which helps improve investors’ relations. PKN ORLEN constantly gives information on the most important events, decisions, financial results, investments and development programs. To make press conferences and General Assemblies more accessible, PKN ORLEN has provided online transmission.

In June ORLEN will offer its Shareholders a chance of actively participating in the Shareholders’ General Assembly thanks to a service, which will enable them to send via Internet voting instructions to their plenipotentiaries.
