PKN ORLEN has settled tenders for bio-ethanol supplies to ORLEN Group companies in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania for the period from October 2009 to September 2010. Following the announcements distributed to over 80 entities across Poland and other EU country members, the final tender for bio-ethanol supplies attracted over 20 domestic and international companies.
As a result of on-line and one-on-one negotiations, bio-ethanol will be supplied as follows:

Polish ingredients will account for 54 per cent of supplied biothanol to be used for production of ETBE and as a petrol component.

The ORLEN Group has decided for more than 50 per cent of bio-ethanol to be contracted through long-term agreements whereas the remaining volume will be procured on a spot basis dependent on the ongoing market environment.
