ORLEN among the best managed companies in CEE 2015
04-09-2015
In the 11th edition of Eurmoney’s Best managed companies in CEE 2015 survey, whose results have just been released, PKN ORLEN was once again recognised as the best managed company in Poland. Independent analysts from leading financial institutions across the globe rewarded the company for its ambitious development plans and strong management competence.

Every year the British financial magazine Euromoney conducts a survey among finance and management experts, asking them to evaluate the strategies of CEE top companies. Based on their opinions a ranking is prepared, whose winners are named the best managed companies in the individual countries of Central and Eastern Europe. This is the second award PKN ORLEN has won in recent weeks, confirming its strong position not only in Poland, but also in CEE. In a ranking published in late August by the Coface Group, PKN ORLEN won the first position among the 500 largest companies in this part of Europe. In terms of revenue, PKN ORLEN significantly outperformed the second company in the ranking, its Hungarian counterpart, MOL.

“I am glad to see that our consistency in pursuing ambitious development goals is once more recognised by international capital market experts. The assumptions outlined in PKN ORLEN’s long-term strategy make us well placed to successfully operate in the rapidly changing business environment and flexibly respond to, sometimes hard to predict, macroeconomic conditions. This enhances our credibility for the stakeholders and confirms our position in this part of Europe,” says Jacek Krawiec, President of the Management Board of PKN ORLEN.

The Euromoney ranking was first published in 2005, and a year later PKN ORLEN appeared there for the first time. Since then, the company has been named the best managed company in Poland five times. This year’s edition of the survey was carried out among a record high number of 447 experts representing large banks, consulting firms and scientific institutes specialising in CEE markets.
