Staff Integration
We provide our staff with an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities which – by engaging employees in joint initiatives – aim at integration and enhancing the sense of affiliation with the Company. Our objective in this area is to build communities outside the workplace and further people’s interests.

    A few years ago we started offering our staff the possibility of taking part in attractive sports events. In 2008, they could show their strengths in five sports disciplines: football, running, table tennis, cycling and swimming.
Winners of particular competitions represented PKN ORLEN at the European Company Sport Games in Athens, and won eight medals, including four gold, two silver and two bronze ones. We also carried out the fourth edition of “Go with Verva” (“Jedź z Vervą”), an amateur rally designed primarily to promote safety on the road but also the principles of fair play. In 2008, over 500 employees took part in sports games.

In 2008, we continued our ORLEN PASSION project, whose main objective is to support and further employees’ interests and passions, as well as to enhance integration. Under the programme, employees may apply for financial and non-cash support which can be used for, among other things, participation in major sports tournaments, and cultural and scientific events, such as quizzes, festivals and photography exhibitions. Initiatives taken up by employees collectively and attractive events organised by employees for employees stand the highest chance of receiving such partial funding. The decisions on which projects will benefit from the assistance are taken by a special board. In the past year, PKN ORLEN provided support to 104 individuals participating in 18 different events, including sports tournaments, photography exhibitions and team-building trips.

    The Chemists’ Days are a regular feature on the corporate events calendar. This celebration particularly emphasises the Company’s affiliation with the oil industry. On the first days of June, numerous cultural and sports events are organised, including many addressed to children.
The entertainment can be enjoyed by PKN ORLEN’s employees as well as the inhabitants of Płock. Fifteen outstanding members of our staff were granted the “Distinguished PKN ORLEN Employee” title. The motto of the award ceremony was “The Best of the Best”, because only such people are granted this distinction, which is highly appreciated at PKN ORLEN.

Caring for Our People

    We provide our employees with a variety of social benefits, such as partial funding of holidays and collective events (sports and recreation,
disease prevention and rehabilitation treatment, team-building events, tourist and sightseeing trips, mass sports as well as events on special occasions), non-returnable cash aid and other forms of assistance, repayable housing loans and Christmas presents for children. Last year, the Company provided approx. 38 thousand various social benefits.

In this area of activity, caring for employees’ health is of key importance. The Company provides comprehensive medical care, including the possibility of using specialist programmes or obtaining aid in difficult life situations.
