One of the indicators of our professionalism is our approach to learning and gaining new skills by our employees. Our business efficiency relies on the managers’ commitment to professional development of their teams. We also make sure that the criteria underlying the directions of our training policy follow directly from the priorities of our business strategy.

We support the development of employees’ professional skills using best market practices and various tools. We organise training sessions and workshops, broaden our knowledge of the market at conferences and industry events, and use coaching tools. We promote work safety culture by carrying out educational projects and mandatory training.

Work in an organisation which is present on a number of foreign markets requires learning foreign languages, which our employees are strongly encouraged to do.

Rozwiń

We make sure that our teams can broaden their knowledge and learn new skills by offering space where they can put their internal innovation projects into life. The innovations usually involve improvements to technological or organisational processes, and our portfolio of R&D projects draws on the capabilities of the entire ORLEN Group.

We also engage in initiatives facilitating cooperation as part of an external ecosystem of innovations through the use of special tools, such as Accelerator, Crowdsourcing, or Innovation Lab.

DEVELOPMENT
AND CAREER IN A TEAM

Michał, Production Process Foreman

I appreciate the opportunity to improve my skills in the area that interests me. I am positive about my future.

My job is to ensure operational reliability of the oil processing unit. I lead my team and I am responsible for ensuring safety and maintaining the required parameters and process efficiency. From the beginning of my work at ORLEN in 2010, I put maximum effort into learning so I gained experience in all sections of the unit. I am glad I can work in a team of people who learn a lot through experience sharing. The important thing is that I have great confidence in where the company is heading and that it is at the forefront of the changing economy.

Krzysztof, Production Process Foreman

Work in PKN ORLEN gives me a lot of satisfaction because the company is developing at a rapid pace, entering new markets for fuel and oil products in Europe and around the world. It is robust and credible.

I have worked for PKN ORLEN since 1986. I am a production process foreman, in the supervisory function. My main responsibility is constant supervision over the technological process in the production of base oils. Reliability, conscientiousness and security, as well as strict control over the quality and quantity parameters, are of key importance in this job. In my team, we know we can trust one another and we are loyal and honest to our colleagues. I feel safe knowing that in emergency situations I can count on others.

Leszek, Production Process Engineer

At every stage of my career I have met friendly and open-minded people who are willing to share their knowledge and experience and who are true experts in their fields.

Currently, I work at the newly built CCGT plant in Płock. I am happy to be working in a stable company with an established market presence which has ‘People’ among its core values. We spend one-third of our lives at work, so it is worthwhile to create the best possible and welcoming atmosphere there. I started working at PKN ORLEN in 2005, as a technician at the Phenol and Transport Department. However, I got to know the plant in Płock earlier, when I was a student of the Chemistry Secondary Technical School. Interestingly, the people who had assisted me during my student internship, were later my colleagues.

Malwina, Project Manager

I know it was a good choice. You can never get bored in my work, as every day I deal with issues which require creativity and stimulate development.

I am involved in wholesale electricity trading, which covers trading as well as preparing analyses, formulating strategies, and work on expanding the company’s presence in foreign markets and new business areas. During my career at PKN ORLEN I climbed up almost all the ranks, from junior clerk to project manager. I am happy to be working on innovative and important topics, with people who are the best in the industry.

Anna, Junior Specialist

I am happy to do what I enjoy. I feel satisfaction from being a part of an innovative company.

My career at PKN ORLEN began in 2015, when I became an assistant at the Technology and Development Office. With the support of the company, I completed a post-graduate course in crude oil processing and joined a project management programme whose final stage is an international exam and awarding of certificate. What do I do now? I am a project manager in the New Technology Research and Development Department, in charge of one of PKN ORLEN’s most innovative projects.
