Benzene

Characteristic
Benzene is a product obtained through extractive distillation.  It is formed as a result of extraction from a mixture of hydrocarbon fractions rich in aromatic compounds originating from refinery and petrochemical production. 

Application
High-purity product is commonly used as a semiproduct for production of caprolactam, cyclohexane, ethylbenzene, cumene, nitrobenzene and in other organic syntheses.
