PKN ORLEN hereby informs that the realisation of investment of Polyethylene 3 Unit (PE3) at the Czech production plant of UNIPETROL RPA, s. r. o. in Litvinov, has been completed. UNIPETROL RPA, s. r. o. took over the second part of the Plant, namely the unit producing the black polyethylene (Black Compound Line). The first part of the Plant, namely the unit producing the natural polyethylene (Natural Product Line) was taken over in April 2020.
The ultimate production capacity of PE3 unit is designed for 270 ths. tonnes per year of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and replaces the production of one of the two existing production units with a capacity of 120 ths. tonnes per year. Thanks to the launch of the new installation, the production capacity of the Czech production plant in Litvinov will increase from 320 to 470 ths. tonnes of polyethylene per year. The total cost of the investment is planned at ca. CZK 9.6 bln.
Unipetrol RPA s. r. o. is a company in which 100% of the shares are owned by Unipetrol a. s., in which 100% of the shares are owned by PKN ORLEN.
