Independent analysts from leading international banks, consulting firms and research institutes, taking part in the 9th “Best Managed Companies in Central and Eastern Europe” ranking, published by the British financial magazine Euromoney, named PKN ORLEN Best managed company in Central and Eastern Europe in the oil/gas/chemicals/petrochemicals category. PKN ORLEN first appeared in the ranking in 2006, and since then has won the title of best managed company in Poland five times.

The “Best Managed Companies in CEE Survey 2013” is based on an annual survey of market experts representing leading banks, consulting firms and research institutes. Respondents are asked to name three top companies in each of the CEE countries and sectors they cover. Criteria taken into account include market strength, profitability, growth potential, quality of management and earnings.

The Euromoney ranking, first complied in 2005, rewards those companies with the most convincing and coherent business strategies in the region, by industry and country. PKN ORLEN has been included in the Euromoney ranking continuously for seven years, during which it has been distinguished five times as the company with the most convincing and coherent strategy in Poland.

For the first time, PKN ORLEN has been ranked beyond the national classification, taking first place in the sector in the regional category. This is a clear indication of improvement in our position and potential, as assessed by independent international experts. The verdict was, I think, based on the Business Strategy until 2017, which we adopted at the end of last year, in which we set ambitious goals and directions to help us successfully use opportunities for effective growth of the Company,” said Jacek Krawiec, CEO and President of the PKN ORLEN Management Board.

Euromoney is a prestigious magazine dedicated to the European financial markets, and is also the most renowned of the titles owned by the London-based publishing house Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC.
