Breakthrough in negotiations over contaminated oil

​During a meeting in Moscow held to discuss resumption of clean oil supplies to Poland over the Druzhba pipeline, a compensation mechanism between Transneft and oil producers was presented to the Polish side. As announced earlier by Daniel Obajtek, President of the PKN ORLEN Management Board, a breakthrough in the negotiations was finally achieved.

PKN ORLEN supports the government in combating informal trade in fuels

​PKN ORLEN has donated 15 modern vehicles to the National Revenue Administration to help the latter continue its efforts aimed at effectively combatting tax fraud in the fuel market. This is another step supporting the government in its fight against the grey economy. As a result, legal consumption of diesel oil in Poland has grown about 30% in recent years. PKN ORLEN had previously donated seven mobile laboratories to the tax authorities, enabling quick testing of fuels transported across Poland for compliance with the applicable regulations.

ORLEN raises production in Płock

​PKN ORLEN has launched a metathesis plant in Płock, raising its propylene capacity by 100,000 tonnes to 550,000 tonnes annually. The Group is the sole propylene producer in Poland and a leading market player in Europe, holding over 50% of total propylene capacity in Central Europe.

ORLEN strengthens ties with Saudi Aramco

​PKN ORLEN can import up to 800,000 tonnes of Saudi crude oil over six months under a contract signed with Saudi Aramco Products Trading Company, a subsidiary of the Saudi oil producer. The contract is an important step that guarantees stability of supply to ORLEN’s refineries in Europe. Under a separate commercial contract, the supplier from Saudi Arabia has committed to purchase heavy fuel oil from ORLEN Lietuva. With that latter contract in place, PKN ORLEN, acting through its Lithuanian-based subsidiary, is strenghtening its strategic relationship with Saudi Aramco also in the area of heavy fuel oil trade.
