PKN ORLEN at the XVI Economic Forum

On 6 – 9 September, Krynica Gorska, Poland, will host The XVI Economic Forum held under the theme European Challenges: The Question of Europe’s Identity. The Forum, which is also referred to as the Polish Davos, is expected to attract some 1,600 guests from around Europe, Asia and America. They will share their views and experience in almost 100 panel discussions on macroeconomics, management, finance, international affairs, security, fuel and energy.

On 7th September Igor Chalupec, CEO & President of PKN ORLEN, will participate in two discussion panels: “Human Resources – A Strategic Tool for an Organization's Development and Success” (starts 1pm) and “Security of Oil Refinery Capacity/Supply in the Baltic Sea Area - Challenges and Opportunities” (starts 3.50pm).

On the previous day, 6th September, Cezary Filipowicz, Vice President of PKN ORLEN responsible for upstream and procurement, will take the floor during the “Investment in the Fuel and Energy Sector – a Clue to Future Security” (starts 6.25 pm).

On Friday, 8th September, Cezary Smorszczewski, Vice President of PKN ORLEN and Chief Investment Officer, will participate in a debate on “Managerial Audit as a Method for the Assessment of a Manager’s Prospects” (starts 11.50 am). Representatives of PKN ORLEN will also speak on Friday’s panel “Energy Security - Dilemmas for Central and Eastern Europe” (starts 9.00 am).

PKN ORLEN is also a partner of the annual Forum publication: “Report on Transformation” which summarizes the progress towards integration of the economies of the CEE countries in 2005 and first half of 2006. The analysis covers 27 countries from the CEE as well as South-East Europe and Former Soviet Union. The official presentation of the report’s conclusions is scheduled for the first day of the Forum.
