Cease of crude supplies
PKN ORLEN informs that crude supplies via the Friendship pipeline ceased on evening of 7th January 2007.
Despite discrepancies in deliveries, the Plock refinery is operating at its full processing capacity. PKN ORLEN has its own operational reserves at the Plock facility, as well as reserves in its underground storage facilities of IKS Solino, which will secure continuous production.
At the same time PKN ORLEN intends to request permission from the Ministry of Economy for to utilize mandatory crude reserves, if necessary. This should secure 80 days of continuous operations.
PKN ORLEN stresses that there is a possibility of re-arranging the entire supply needs of the Polish refineries via the marine facilities of Naftoport in Gdansk. PKN ORLEN is also examining options to secure deliveries of crude by sea.
PKN ORLEN forecasts that the current situation will not affect retail prices.
