Mazeikiu Nafta has received the first tranche of insurance
Companies insuring AB Mazeikiu Nafta have paid to the Lithuanian refiner USD 70 m (EUR 50 m or LTL 173.7 m). This is the first tranche of the insurance claim following the fire that occurred at the Mazeikiu production facilities on 12th October 2006.
“Part of the insurance that we have been paid means a lot to us, as it proves that the entities insuring Mazeikiu Nafta will reimburse the costs of rebuilding the distillation unit, as well as covering for our business interruption loss” – said Marek Mroczkowski, General Director at AB MAzeikiu Nafta.
The assessment of all losses, and agreement on the final insurance total, will be made after completion of the reconstruction of the unit which, according to the schedule, should take place by the end of 2007.
