Mazeikiu Nafta resumed Crude Distillation Unit
Following earlier declarations of PKN ORLEN, on 20th January 2008 the refinery in Mazeikiu (ORLEN Group) resumed operation of the Vacuum Distillation Unit (VDU). The unit’s reconstruction was completed at the end of December 2007, fourteen months after the fire which destroyed the facility (October 2006).
The adverse effects of the fire were partially off-set by the start-up of the Bitumen Distillation Unit in February 2007. At present, the VDU, operates in full capacity from the period before the fire.
