ORLEN Deutschland Secures Approval

The approval granted yesterday by the German Federal Cartel Office sealed the transaction executed two weeks ago between ORLEN Deutschland GmbH and OMV Deutschland GmbH. Thus, the German member of the ORLEN Group may commence the acquisition of the 56 service stations previously belonging to the OMV's network.

- The fact that we have obtained the approval in such a short time is good news for us. The completion of this stage of the transaction gives us green light to start preparing for the incorporation of the stations into the Star network - said Józef Niedworok, PhD, President of the Management Board of ORLEN Deutschland GmbH.

The rebranding of the stations will probably commence in Q1 2011. The completion of that process will depend on specific formal requirements to be met for each station.

Following the recent transaction with OMV Deutschland, the number of stations within the Star network will increase to 574, and ORLEN Deutschland will strengthen its foothold in Thuringia and Saxony, where the brand has not yet established significant presence.
