Special version of PKN ORLEN’s Annual Report
PKN ORLEN introduced facilities for the partially sighted using the company’s web service. On a specially designed website the Holding company presented the Annual Report and Social Responsibility Report for 2009 along with the archive versions of the Reports.
Special versions for the partially sighted (in Polish and English) are generated by the system and integrated with basic services in a way to download new content automatically. These versions are elaborated in the style which meets the needs of the partially sighted. They are based on contrasting colours and in terms of communication have suitable navigation labels, titles and headings. They are also adapted with respect to limiting the number of navigation elements and links on the site to make them friendly and legible for screen readers. In addition, in all versions of the Annual Report and the Social Responsibility Report the font enlargement mechanism was implemented. Versions for the partially sighted are in accordance with W3C and WCAG standards.

In terms of content, PKN ORLEN’s online Reports are a full reflection of the company reports in the paper version. Particular emphasis was put on providing users with a constant and comfortable access to the data published in the reports. Thanks to the use of solutions such as the search engine, the function of sorting content in selected sections, or the paging mechanism, users might find data they are interested in much easier and faster. The most important information might be browsed at the main page level of each report.
In the reports the interested will find all vital information related to the ORLEN Capital Group’s activities in 2009. Information included therein refers to all European markets in which the Holding company operates, in both business and social dimension.
The project of the Annual Reports and the Social Responsibility Reports in the online version was already implemented by PKN ORLEN last year. The Holding company cooperates in this respect with Supermedia Interactive, the company which is responsible for the implementation of reports, the growth of web services and permanent technical care.
