Statement by PKN ORLEN

In response to an article headlined 'PKN Orlen longs to be under Rosneft's wing' published on the website www.vedomosti.ru on June 27th, PKN ORLEN states that the information contained in the article is misleading and contrary to the facts.

For reasons unknown to PKN ORLEN, vedomosti.ru cites a list of various projects allegedly under way, linking them to contracts recently signed with Rosneft for the supply of crude oil to our refineries in Poland (in February 2013) and the Czech Republic (in June 2013). Contrary to what was published on vedomosti.ru, execution of the contracts was never subject to the Company making any commitments to Rosneft regarding potential joint projects or sale of any assets. We want to firmly state that PKN ORLEN S.A. is not taking any steps aimed at selling its shares in ORLEN Lietuva. The Company is neither taking part in, nor is it interested in, any project to market fuels in Belarus, Poland, and Germany under the Rosneft brand. No talks are being held with Rosneft concerning any other contracts for the supply of crude oil to PKN ORLEN.

The process of securing crude oil supplies for our Polish operations under long-term contracts, launched as the existing contracts started to expire, was completed in February 2013. For our Czech subsidiaries, the process was completed in June 2013. Updates on the progress of the procurement processes, from their very beginning until contract execution, were provided to the Crude Oil Supplies Monitoring Committee, the Supervisory Board of PKN ORLEN S.A., and the Ministry of the State Treasury. The processes were monitored on an ongoing basis by the competent state authorities.

PKN ORLEN intends to request that the editor of vedomosti.ru correct the untrue information published in the article ‘PKN ORLEN longs to be under Rosneft's wing’
