ORLEN stays on Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN

In the 2022 season, PKN ORLEN will remain as the title sponsor of the Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN team competing in the world’s most prestigious racing series – Formula 1. Robert Kubica, the only Polish driver in F1 history, will remain in the team. Finland’s Valtteri Bottas and China’s Guanyu Zhou, making his F1 debut, will partner Kubica on the Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN team for the 2022 season. The Chinese driver joining the team is an opportunity to strengthen recognition of the ORLEN brand and support the business activities of ORLEN China. The partnership will translate into tangible business results and strengthen global recognition of the ORLEN brand. Robert Kubica will also remain ORLEN’s brand ambassador as part of bilateral cooperation that includes the ORLEN Team member’s participation in endurance races.

Baltic Power to hold talks with suppliers about successive project stages

ORLEN Południe launches production of eco-friendly, green glycol

ORLEN Południe, an ORLEN Group company, has brought on stream Poland’s first and Europe’s largest green propylene glycol production unit at its biorefinery in Trzebinia. The unit has a capacity of 30,000 tonnes a year, enough to cover as much as 75% of the domestic demand for the product.

Environmentally friendly project in Trzebinia

ORLEN Południe, a member of the ORLEN Group, has signed a contract for the construction in Trzebinia of a UCO FAME plant which will convert used cooking oils and animal fats into 30,000 tonnes of second generation esters and 7,000 tonnes of technical grade glycerine annually.

Petrochemicals, refining and power generation account for 75% of profits reported by the ORLEN Group for the third quarter of 2021. The retail segment in Poland currently accounts for just 15% of the Group’s EBITDA.

PKN ORLEN’s investment in deep crude conversion in Mažeikiai will enhance the refinery’s profitability

PKN ORLEN is investing to expand its refinery in Mažeikiai. By the end of this year construction will start on a project to build deep crude conversion units enabling production of larger volumes of high-margin products. According to the agreement signed between PKN ORLEN and ORLEN Lietuva on the financing of the project, the Company is to invest EUR 641m. This will be the largest capex project carried out by the ORLEN Group in Lithuania in its operating history. The project will enhance the profitability of the refinery, contributing to strengthening energy security of the region. The project is slated for completion by the end of 2024, and it will add as much as ca. EUR 68m to annual EBITDA.
