PKN ORLEN signs an annex to a long-term crude oil supply contract with Rosneft Oil Company

The agreement, with an estimated maximum value in current market conditions of around PLN 26bn, provides for the supply of between 18 million to 25.2 million tonnes of crude oil.

ORLEN contracted crude oil supplies to Płock from Tatneft Europe AG

PKN ORLEN has signed long-term contract for crude oil supplies for Production Plant in Płock. The contract provides for the supply from 3,6m up to 7,2m tonnes of crude oil and value of the contract is estimated at up to approximately PLN 7,4 bn.

Experimental algae to grow at the refinery

PKN ORLEN is starting another R&D project to explore alternative sources of next-generation biocomponents. The Company plans to open a research station at its Production Plant in Płock, where carbon dioxide and process wastewater will be used to grow algae.

PKN ORLEN to begin choosing winners in its crowdsourcing competition

PKN ORLEN has closed the submission stage of its open global contest to find innovative solutions improving the energy efficiency of the refinery’s processes. Undeterred by the challenge and difficulty of the task, innovators from 20 different countries were interested by the contest. Only six most promising solutions will make it to the final stage.

ORLEN acquires Kicking Horse Energy

Today, PKN ORLEN, through its upstream segment subsidiary ORLEN Upstream Canada Ltd, has completed the acquisition of all of the outstanding common shares of Kicking Horse Energy Inc. a Canadian oil and gas company. The Kicking Horse assets significantly increase the exploration and production portfolio of ORLEN in the Western Canada, adding approximately 4100 boe/d to current production and 30 million barrels of hydrocarbon resources (2P).

Changes in the Supervisory Board of PKN ORLEN

On November 23rd 2015, the Minister of the Polish State Treasury, acting on behalf of the State Treasury as a shareholder, removed Mr Maciej Bałtowski from the Supervisory Board of PKN ORLEN. At the same time, Mr Remigiusz Nowakowski was appointed as Member of the Supervisory Board. The changes were made pursuant to Art. 8.2.1 of PKN ORLEN’s Articles of Association.

This move continues the effort to modernise the wholesale fuel distribution channel within the ORLEN Group. The newly-established company will operate as ORLEN Paliwa.
