PKN ORLEN at the XVI Economic Forum

On 6 – 9 September, Krynica Gorska, Poland, will host The XVI Economic Forum held under the theme European Challenges: The Question of Europe’s Identity. The Forum, which is also referred to as the Polish Davos, is expected to attract some 1,600 guests from around Europe, Asia and America. They will share their views and experience in almost 100 panel discussions on macroeconomics, management, finance, international affairs, security, fuel and energy.

PKN ORLEN a partner of AIESEC Congress

This year’s summit, to be held in Warsaw between 24.08 and 3.09, will host around 700 students from 95 countries and 500 members of the AIESEC organization. The participants will have an opportunity to share their views on education, energy, finance, health or CSR at numerous discussion panels and seminars. The disputes over issues which are perceived as threats or opportunities to the world’s development are expected also to involve business leaders as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations.

In Q2 2006 PKN ORLEN posted very good financial results, driven primarily by increased sales. There was also support from a positive macroeconomic environment and an increase in profits of the Unipetrol companies.

Meeting at the Embassy of Lithuania

Yesterday, representatives of the Government of Lithuania, PKN ORLEN and the Polish State Treasury met at the Embassy of Lithuania in Warsaw to discuss the timetable for the acquisition of assets of the Mazeikiu Nafta. Talks were also held on the preparation of documents, necessary for the European Commission to give its consent to the transaction.

Letter of intent PGNiG & PKN ORLEN

The leading Polish extraction company ,PGNiG and the biggest domestic fuel producer and distributor ,PKN Orlen, intend to perform together on investments and projects in the field of oil and gas extraction and logistic infrastructure related to these sectors. On 14 July 2006 representatives of Management Boards of both PGNiG and PKN ORLEN signed a letter of intent of co-operation.
