Diethylene glycol (DEG)
Zawartość strony
Characteristics
Diethylene glycol is obtained in the reaction of ethylene oxide hydration as a byproduct of the monoethylene glycol (MEG) synthesis. It is then separated and purified in the rectification process. DEG produced at PKN Orlen shows high degree of purity (>99.7%).
Application
As a reagent in production of polyester resins; also used as an industrial solvent, gas drying and humidity stabilising agent.
