First power in the grid

The gas turbine of PKN ORLEN's power project in Płock reached full speed and on September 26th 2017 nearly 400 MWe of electricity was first fed into the National Power Grid. That test and successful synchronisation with the transmission system operator's network marked another milestone for the unit. In the coming weeks, adjustment operation of the gas turbine will be performed and preparations for the start up of the steam turbine will be made, with the unit expected to reach its target capacity of approximately 600 MWe.

PKN ORLEN Series A bonds in line with investors’ expectations

A total of 1,188 investors have placed subscription orders for Series A bonds offered in PKN ORLEN’s second retail bond programme, meaning the issue is more than twice oversubscribed. Today, the Company has allotted the first series of bonds with a total nominal value of PLN 200m and started to make oversubscription refunds.

PKN ORLEN once again meets the expectations of individual investors, who will be able to place orders for PKN ORLEN’s retail bonds starting from September 6th. The first series offered under the second retail bond programme will comprise two million bonds with a nominal value of PLN 200m.

PKN ORLEN and PGNiG start joint production from Miłosław E gas field

PKN ORLEN and Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo have started the production of natural gas from Miłosław E deposit. The facility is operated from a gas plant located 30 km away. This is another deposit in Greater Poland to be jointly developed by both companies.

In Vilnius, ORLEN Lietuva and the Lithuanian Railways signed an agreement ending long-running disputes between the companies. ORLEN completes the Włocławek CCGT project

It took over 18,000 m3 of concrete, close to 4,000 tonnes of steel, and a total of 200 km of power cables to complete PKN ORLEN’s CCGT cogeneration project in Włocławek. Altogether, the construction site saw over 25,000 qualified workers contributing to the project at different stages. Poland’s first high-capacity CCGT unit (463 MWe) will enhance the ORLEN Group’s operational excellence, while strengthening the national energy security.
