PKN ORLEN secures crude oil supplies from non-Russian sources

As much as 90 per cent of the crude oil processed by the ORLEN Group already comes from countries other than Russia. This is the outcome of intensive supply diversification efforts pursued by the company since 2015. Having joined forces with trustworthy trading partners, PKN ORLEN is now fully prepared to give up on Russian oil altogether if further import sanctions are imposed.

PKN ORLEN enhances the security and stability of fuel supplies

In partnership with PERN, PKN ORLEN has brought on stream the Boronów–Trzebinia fuel pipeline, which will transport 1.5 million cubic meters of fuels per year in an environmentally friendly manner. The new 97-kilometer pipeline section will improve the safety, stability and timing of diesel and gasoline deliveries to customers in the Śląsk (Silesia) and Małopolska (Lesser Poland) regions. The investment also involves expansion of the Trzebinia terminal, which will increase its storage capacity. The works performed by the ORLEN Group are valued at over PLN 200 million and will continue until the end of 2023.

PKN ORLEN is staying in the Formula 1 paddock in 2023, with the concern beginning its cooperation with the Italian Scuderia AlphaTauri, whose main goal is to prepare future world champions. The ORLEN brand logo, in a record-breaking season of 23 race weekends, will be displayed, among others, on the rear wing, the nose of the car and the halo rim. This is the fifth consecutive year of the largest Polish company in the paddock of pinnacle of motorsport’. In the colours of Scuderia AlphaTauri will be Japanese Yuki Tsunoda and Dutchman Nyck de Vries.

PKN ORLEN and Sempra Infrastructure enter long-term LNG sales and purchase agreement

The 20-year contract between PKN ORLEN and Sempra Infrastructure provides for the supply of 1 million metric tonnes of liquefied natural gas per year from the Phase 1 Port Arthur LNG development project. The contract strengthens the energy security of Poland and the Central and Eastern European region. The agreed volume of supplies covers about 10 per cent of the current annual gas demand of Polish consumers.

ORLEN invests in logistics and production assets in Gdańsk

The ORLEN Group is going to invest more than PLN 500 million in the Gdańsk refinery to improve the safety and security of product supply. A transshipment marine terminal will be built on the refinery wharf, which will enable the handling of more than one million tonnes of products, including base oils, marine fuels or fuel bio additives, starting from 2025. The project’s contractor will be a consortium of companies led by the NDI Group of Sopot. Also, a related project is concurrently being carried out in Gdańsk to construct a cutting-edge hydrocracked base oil unit (HBO), valued at more than PLN 1.4 billion.

New ORLEN service stations in Germany

The ORLEN Group is finalising the purchase of 17 service stations in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. The transaction will help the Group to expand its retail network to 604 locations and also to extend its geographic reach as most ORLEN service stations have so far been located in western and northern states. The transaction in Germany will be funded with proceeds from the sale of part of LOTOS service stations, one of the European Commission’s merger remedies. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of February after the Group obtains clearance from the German antitrust authority and other approvals.

For the twelfth time running, PKN ORLEN has been awarded the Top Employer Polska title recognising the country’s best employers. The ORLEN Group companies ANWIL and ORLEN Unipetrol were also featured in the prestigious ranking of companies meeting the highest global standards in HR policy.

ORLEN invests to strengthen its supply chain

PKN ORLEN will streamline supply processes across its operations thanks to the investment in Shippeo's innovative platform, a practically industry-agnostic solution that will enhance the management of logistics processes. It is PKN ORLEN's fifth and largest-to-date direct investment made via the ORLEN VC corporate fund. Shippeo's platform has already been successfully deployed by Coca-Cola HBC, Carrefour, Renault Group and Total, to name but a few.

ORLEN Group secures four new licences in Norway

PGNiG Upstream Norway and LOTOS Exploration & Production Norge of the ORLEN Group have been awarded interests in four exploration licences on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in an annual licensing round. Together with the latest awards, the ORLEN Group now holds 98 licences in Norway.
