PKN ORLEN supports fight against informal fuel trade

PKN ORLEN has donated 32 modern vehicles to the National Revenue Administration (NRA) to help with roadside fuel transport inspections. The Group will also equip the NRA with communication systems for 200 specialised vehicles. Worth over PLN 15.5m, the donations aim to support the government efforts designed to combat informal fuel trade, which have helped PKN ORLEN to increase diesel and gasoline sales by, respectively, 48% and 26% in recent years.

PKN ORLEN invests to develop its refining and petrochemical production

​PKN ORLEN has commenced the construction of a visbreaking unit, a key project for the Płock refinery. Worth approximately PLN 1bn, it will significantly increase the yield of light products: gasoline and diesel oil. Once completed at the end of 2022, it will boost the ORLEN Group’s EBITDA by up to PLN 415m annually.

ORLEN Group will consolidate its position in China

​Direct sale of ORLEN Group products on the promising Chinese market will be managed by ORLEN China, which is to officially launch its operations in the second half of the year. Initially, the company will focus on selling engine oils, previously distributed in China through third parties. Over the coming three years, sales through an ORLEN Group company will contribute to achieving a several-fold increase in operating profit compared with the present level.

ORLEN with Golden CSR Leaf

​PKN ORLEN was awarded the Golden CSR Leaf for another consecutive year in recognition its CSR efforts in 2019. The Company was also distinguished for its project to develop a high-performance silicon carbide DC charger with an efficiency 97%. ORLEN Group’s ANWIL to increase production capacity

ANWIL, a company of the ORLEN Group, is making progress on the project to build a third nitrogen fertilizer production line as scheduled. The facility will increase the company’s production capacity by approximately 50% and thus improve its position against foreign competition. Estimated to be worth approximately PLN 1.3bn, the construction of the new line is the largest capital project being carried out in the Province of Bydgoszcz and Toruń and will make a significant contribution to the Polish economy. When completed, it will offer 100 new jobs and is forecast to add almost PLN 245m to ANWIL’s annual EBITDA.The project site was visited by Andrzej Duda, President of Poland.

PKN ORLEN’s Annual General Meeting

​The Annual General Meeting of PKN ORLEN granted discharge from liability to all members of the Company’s Management and Supervisory Boards for 2019. The shareholders also approved the amount of dividend proposed by the Management Board for the previous year, of PLN 1 per share. July 28th 2020 was set as the dividend payment date.

PKN ORLEN one step closer to acquiring RUCH

​PKN ORLEN is set to acquire a 65% stake in RUCH and become the company’s majority shareholder, responsible for its development. The parties to the transaction have agreed on the terms and conditions of the deal in an investment agreement. PKN ORLEN has also obtained clearance from the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) to go ahead with the transaction.

PKN ORLEN has signed an agreement for the purchase of a licence and basic engineering design for the upgrade of its vacuum residue hydrodesulphurisation (HOG) unit. The project will help improve production efficiency at the Group’s plant in Płock by increasing the yields of high-margin products: gasoline and diesel oil.
