New Management Board of ORLEN Lietuva

The Shareholders' Meeting of ORLEN Lietuva appointed the Management Board of the Lithuanian Company for a consecutive term of office. The Management Board is comprised of seven members. Pursuant to the Company’s statute, the Management Board elected Ireneusz Fafara as President and General Director of the Company. The term of office of the present Management Board shall expire in April 2014.

"Environment-friendly Company" for ORLEN

PKN ORLEN received the “Environment-friendly Company” certificate in the contest organized by the European Forum for Environmental Responsibility. According to the Contest Jury, ORLEN is an ecologically sensitive company promoting the principles of Ecological Corporate Social Responsibility on all levels of management.

Vilnius, 19 March 2010

A meeting was held today between the Chancellor and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania, representatives of the Polish Ministry of Treasury and the PKN ORLEN’s Management Board. The goal of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of taking decisions by the Lithuanian authorities that would allow to improve ORLEN Lietuva’s operations in the area of logistics. It was another attempt of the Polish side made within the last three years with respect to this matter. The proposal presented by the Polish representatives, which aimed at improving the profitability of ORLEN Lietuva, has not gained the support of the Government of Lithuania.

EUR payments at ORLEN stations

Already at 30 petrol stations belonging to the PKN ORLEN network customers can pay in euro. Until the end of the year payments in the European currency will be possible at about 100 stations operating under the ORLEN brand. The Company also expands its services with the system of cash withdrawal while paying by card.

VERVA Racing Team at the starting line!!!

The first Polish racing team in motor sports history, created by PKN ORLEN S.A., is set to compete with teams from all over the world in the legendary Porsche Supercup, which is held immediately before Formula 1 races. The VERVA Racing Team will make its debut on 12 March on the International Circuit in Bahrain!

ORLEN inaugurates investment programme

PKN ORLEN has begun to execute its Ecology and Power Investment Programme in the Płock Production Facility. Altogether, 6 investments - worth PLN 1.4 billion – will be carried out within the next seven years.

ORLEN exceeds Fitch Ratings expectations

Today Fitch has communicated its decision – favorable from the perspective of PKN ORLEN credit risk assessment – on removing the company from Rating Watch Negative, i.e. the list of entities under surveillance related to the possible short-term rating reduction.

ORLEN achieved National Indicative Target for 2009

In 2009 PKN ORLEN introduced overall 510 thousand tons of bio-components and biofuels to the Polish market meeting therefore the National Indicative Target with a surplus. Consequently the reduction in carbon dioxide emission from fuels occurred by approximately 540 thousand tons.

Safety Break in the Trip

Driver’s rest time during the trip is a very important element of drive safety, appeals PKN ORLEN in a social campaign. The company encourages drivers to make stops during long tiring trips of 20 minutes every 2 hours of driving. Experts agree: a tired driver behind the wheel may be as dangerous as a drunk driver. On March 1st 2010 an education campaign was launched as part of the “ORLEN. Safe Roads” programme.
