Agreement with the Lithuanian Government over Mazeikiu Nafta

PKN ORLEN S.A. informs that on March 26th 2009 it completed the letter describing the conditions of execution of the agreement dated June 9th 2006 concerning the sale option of the AB Mazeikiu Nafta shares owned by the Republic of Lithuania.

ORLEN meets the 2008 National Index Target (NCW)

PKN ORLEN has reported on last year's results of implementing its biofuel strategy. The National Index Target (NCW) was met with biocomponents making up 3.46% at a total cost of PLN 63m.

Mazeikiu Nafta has signed an agreement with Lithuanian Railways

PKN ORLEN hereby announces that on 17 February 2009 AB Mazeikiu Nafta signed an agreement for the transport of refining products with Lithuanian Railways.

New CEO of Anwil

At the meeting today, the Supervisory Board of ANWIL, a PKN ORLEN company, appointed Mr Maciej Trojnarski as the new CEO and President of the company. He will take up the post today. The Supervisory Board decided that Ms Teresa Szeligowska, currently acting as CEO, would continue her work as Deputy CEO and Chief Financial and Economic Officer.

Second Diesel oil hydrodesulphurisation unit (HON) upgraded

The Mazeikiu refinery has launched upgrading works at the second Diesel oil hydrodesulphurisation unit. Completion is scheduled for early April.

Fitch Ratings downgraded rating for PKN ORLEN

Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. ("PKN ORLEN", “Company”), informs that, on 2 March 2009 Fitch Ratings (“Agency”) has downgraded PKN ORLEN's long-term international credit rating from “BBB-/negative outlook (Rating Watch Negative) “ to „BB+ (Rating Watch Negative)”. The Agency also downgraded PKN ORLEN’s short-term rating from “F3” to „B”.

PKN ORLEN - 2008 consolidated financial results

The Group's 2008 financial results were affected by negative macroeconomic circumstances in Q4. A reversal of the trend of rising oil prices cut the reported operating profit by approx. PLN 2.7bn, whereas fluctuating f/x rates negatively impacted reported financial costs by over PLN 1.5bn. However, please note that the evaluation of stocks and f/x differences influenced the reported result predominantly from an accounting, not cash, perspective.

USD 63 million for Mazeikiu Nafta

Mazeikiu Nafta has recived USD 63m of insurance in the third tranche of reimbursements after the Vacuum Distillation Column fire in 2007. The first tranche of USD 70m was transferred to Mazeikiu Nafta at the end of September 2007. In January 2008 the company received another USD 40m.
