New Cost Optimization Program

PKN ORLEN launches the “OPTIMA” program, which aims to save a minimum of PLN 600 million in operational costs and to reduce investment costs by a further PLN 600 million by 2009. OPTIMA will apply to both the core operations of PKN ORLEN and the Capital Group.

Poland's first distribution of bio-diesel

Trzebinia Refinery, the ORLEN Group Company, has begun Poland’s first distribution of bio-diesel, which is a mixture of mineral diesel and diesel produced from plant oils. The ON BIO, as it is called, can be applied to all types of self-ignition diesel engines, is environmentally friendly and cheaper than typical diesel. The new fuel is characterized for its high greasing parameters and low sulphur content and level of exhaust.
