PKN ORLEN - consolidated financial results 2Q and 1H 2009

In 2Q 2009 PKN ORLEN Capital Group significantly improved its financial results. In this period the holding company generated net income to the amount of 1169 million PLN, and operating income to the amount of 661 million PLN. Good results enabled the Company to minimize the loss from 1Q 2009 and close 1H with a positive net result at the level of 77 million PLN and operating income to the amount of 340 million PLN. The main reason for the better results was a significant increase in sales volumes and income in the retail segment, as well as the effect of inventory revaluation and the impact of exchange rates differences.

Another Latvian exploration license for PKN ORLEN

The company SIA Balin Energy, a joint venture of PKN ORLEN and Kuwait Energy Company has obtained the second exploration and production license for its activity in the Latvian Baltic Sea economic area. The decision has been announced today by the Latvian government in the Official Journal of the European Union.

PKN ORLEN launches invitation to esters tender

PKN ORLEN is launching an invitation to tender for the supply of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) to the companies of the ORLEN Capital Group, operating on every national market represented within the Group.

Transfer of PKN ORLEN shares to the State Treasury

Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. ("PKN ORLEN") hereby announces that it received a notice that on 22 July 2009 Nafta Polska S.A. (“Nafta Polska”) transferred PKN ORLEN shares to the State Treasury (“State Treasury”). In result of the transaction the State Treasury, represented by the Minister of the State Treasury, purchased 74 076 299 of PKN ORLEN shares, representing 17,32% of registered capital of PKN ORLEN, with 74 076 299 votes at the PKN ORLEN General Meeting attached to these shares, representing 17,32% of the total votes.

PKN ORLEN SA and PGNiG SA will jointly perform an Exploitation Project in Poland.

PKN ORLEN SA and PGNiG SA will jointly perform an Exploitation Project in Wielkopolska Province, Poland. On June 22nd 2009 PKN ORLEN S.A. (ORLEN) and Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A. (PGNiG) signed a Joint Operation Agreement to work on an Exploration-Production Project located in the North-Western part of Poland.

Changes in PKN ORLEN Statutes

More transparent shareholdership, more precise terms of possible interrelations between shareholders and adjusting the Statutes to the amended Polish Code of Commercial Companies are the main objectives of the changes to the Company Statutes proposed by PKN ORLEN Management Board. The changes will be subject to vote on PKN ORLEN General Meeting scheduled for 30 June 2009.

Bioethanol - PKN ORLEN to announce invitation to tender

BIOETHANOL – PKN ORLEN TO ANNOUNCE INVITATION TO TENDER In a few days, an invitation to tender will be announced for the delivery of bioethanol for PKN ORLEN companies in their home markets for the period from October 2009 to September 2010.

PKN ORLEN - Financial results for the 1ST quarter 2009

Despite the global economic crisis, in the 1st quarter this year, the Company managed to increase its sales volumes as well as its market share. The Capital Group implemented a number of operational projects and generated over PLN 1.1 bn of operating cash flow. The Company's financial results in the 1st quarter of this year remained under the strong influence of falling crude oil prices, reduced petrochemical margins and weakening Polish currency against the US dollar and euro. Consequently, in the 1st quarter of 2009, PKN ORLEN reported an operating loss of PLN 320 mn.

The effects of particularly adverse macroeconomic conditions last year and the results of required tests for impairment of fixed asset significantly affected the level of PKN ORLEN Capital Group financial results in 2008.
