EC's clearance for acquisition of Mazeikiu Nafta

European Commission (European Commission Directorate General for Competition) has agreed to the purchase of a controlling stake in AB Mazeikiu Nafta by PKN ORLEN from Yukos International UK. B.V. and Lithuanian Government.

PKN ORLEN denies speculations on Mazeikiu Nafta

PKN ORLEN categorically denies speculation that any depreciation of the Mazeiku Nafta (MN) asset value is in the Polish company’s interest. PKN ORLEN wishes to stress that the investment in MN is the biggest in the history of the Polish economy and it is in PKN ORLEN’s interest to build up the value of the transaction. Therefore, speculation on PKN ORLEN’s alleged co-operation with the MN managers to undermine the company’s value are absurd and baseless.

ORLEN Lietuva advances the planned maintenance and repairs

Management Board of ORLEN Lietuva made a decision to commence today a series of repairs and maintenance of the installation, planned for the upcoming dozen months. The decision was made due to the current, very low level of refinery margins, and consequently – the economic grounds for reducing the production of ORLEN Lietuva in Mazeikiu.

Another off-shore exploration concession in Latvia

Balin Energy, a 50-50 joint venture between PKN ORLEN and Kuwait Energy, has received in Riga (Latvia) the crude oil exploration and production concession in the Latvian off-shore economy zone of the Baltic Sea. Together with the concession which was won in 2008, Balin Energy operates in the area of approximately 900 km2.

ORLEN Deutschland purchased 56 stations from OMV Deutschland

Today, ORLEN Deutschland GmbH and OMV Deutschland GmbH have signed an agreement for ORLEN's purchase of 56 service stations of OMV's network, located in Thuringia and Saxony. Thus the German member company of the ORLEN Group has entered the markets of further two federal states. Following the transaction, the ORLEN Deutschland network will comprise 574 service stations.

New Management Board of ORLEN Lietuva

The Shareholders' Meeting of ORLEN Lietuva appointed the Management Board of the Lithuanian Company for a consecutive term of office. The Management Board is comprised of seven members. Pursuant to the Company’s statute, the Management Board elected Ireneusz Fafara as President and General Director of the Company. The term of office of the present Management Board shall expire in April 2014.

Vilnius, 19 March 2010

A meeting was held today between the Chancellor and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania, representatives of the Polish Ministry of Treasury and the PKN ORLEN’s Management Board. The goal of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of taking decisions by the Lithuanian authorities that would allow to improve ORLEN Lietuva’s operations in the area of logistics. It was another attempt of the Polish side made within the last three years with respect to this matter. The proposal presented by the Polish representatives, which aimed at improving the profitability of ORLEN Lietuva, has not gained the support of the Government of Lithuania.

New contract between ORLEN Lietuva and Klaipedos Nafta

Today in Vilnius, ORLEN Lietuva, a member of the ORLEN Group, signed a new contract with the Lithuanian seaport Klaipedos Nafta, concerning reloading of petroleum products. The contract will continue in force until the end of 2024. On behalf of the companies the contract was signed by Ireneusz Fąfara, CEO of ORLEN Lietuva, and Rokas Masilius, CEO of Klaipedos Nafta.

PKN ORLEN expands the geographical reach of its fleet cards

PKN ORLEN has prepared for its clients a new international card, OPEN DRIVE. Card holders will be able to make cashless payments at over 2,500 of the PKN ORLEN Group's service stations operating under the ORLEN and BLISKA brands in Poland, the BENZINA and BENZINA PLUS brands in the Czech Republic, the STAR brand in Germany and the ORLEN brand in Lithuania.
