PKN ORLEN arranges crude oil supplies to its Czech refinery

PKN ORLEN has signed the annex to the contract with Rosneft Oil Company for crude oil supplies to Unipetrol in the Czech Republic. The annex provides for flexibility in the supply volumes – approx. 2,9 million tonnes to approx. 5 million tonnes per year. Today, PKN ORLEN has also signed a contract with Tatneft for the supply of approximately 600,000 tonnes of crude oil annually to its Czech refinery.

Best concepts from across the globe to support innovation at PKN ORLEN

PKN ORLEN has announced the winners of its crowdsourcing contest, the first global project of that scale launched by a Polish company. From among proposals submitted by companies, universities and research centres from all over the world, the best three solutions were selected. The winners are from Poland, India and Germany. The winners each received prizes of EUR 10,000 and were invited to discuss further cooperation with PKN ORLEN. In accordance with the objectives of the contest, the selected concepts are to improve the energy efficiency of production processes at the PKN ORLEN refinery.

ORLEN Group increases its share in Czech retail market

Unipetrol, a subsidiary of PKN ORLEN, will acquire 68 service stations which are now part of OMV’s assets in the Czech Republic. The new acquisitions will operate under the Benzina brand. Conditions for closing the transaction include clearance from the Czech anti-trust authority.

PKN ORLEN intends to take full control of Czech-based Unipetrol

PKN ORLEN, holding a 62.9% equity interest in Unipetrol a.s., has launched a conditional voluntary tender offer for shares in the Czech company. The offer is conditional on PKN ORLEN acquiring at least 90% of Unipetrol’s share capital.

New beginning in Lithuania

In Vilnius, ORLEN Lietuva and the Lithuanian Railways signed an agreement ending long-running disputes between the companies. Wojciech Jasiński, President of the Management Board of PKN ORLEN, Saulius Skvernelis, Prime Minister of Lithuania, and Rokas Masiulis, Lithuanian Minister of Transport, were present at the event.

PKN ORLEN to buy oil from Angola

​PKN ORLEN consistently diversifies its oil supply sources. Angola is the second, after Nigeria, Western African country from which PKN ORLEN will import oil. Approximately one million barrels will be delivered to Naftoport in Gdańsk as early as in February 2019.

PKN ORLEN strengthens links with suppliers from Persian Gulf

​The United Arab Emirates is a new source of oil supplies to PKN ORLEN. This time the refinery in Płock will receive one million barrels, i.e. approximately 130,000 tonnes, of crude oil. The supply, expected to reach Naftoport at the end of November or beginning of December, was arranged in response to the changing situation on oil markets.

PKN ORLEN reinforces cooperation with Lithuanian Railways

​On August 14th 2018, the CEOs of both companies Daniel Obajtek and Mantas Bartuska signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand cooperation between the Polish oil refiner and LR. The event, which also marked the inauguration of work on restoring the railway connection between Mažeikiai and Renge, was attended by the Lithuanian Transport Minister Rokas Masiulis.
