ORLEN Group will consolidate its position in China

​Direct sale of ORLEN Group products on the promising Chinese market will be managed by ORLEN China, which is to officially launch its operations in the second half of the year. Initially, the company will focus on selling engine oils, previously distributed in China through third parties. Over the coming three years, sales through an ORLEN Group company will contribute to achieving a several-fold increase in operating profit compared with the present level.

ORLEN Group to double the number of service stations in Slovakia

​The ORLEN Group plans to further expand and develop its retail chain in Slovakia this year. Having closed last year with ten service stations on that market, it intends to double this number in 2020. Its newest site has just been opened in Ružomberok. The ORLEN Group is also developing its food and store format in Slovakia, with another seven Stop Cafes planned to launch in the coming months.

Launch of the first ORLEN-branded service station in Germany

​PKN ORLEN has launched its first ORLEN-branded service station near Berlin. It is another important step towards a full international rebranding of the network and strengthening the company’s position in Europe. Almost 600 service stations under the ORLEN-star brand already operate in Germany. The new station operates as a stop.cafe and O!Shop, offering a wide range of products to customers.

Mažeikiai regains railway connection with Latvia

​A train heading for Latvia left the Mažeikiai refinery today. ORLEN Lietuva will again export its products via Renge after a 12-year break, as Lithuanian Railways fulfilled its commitment in December last year to rebuilt a 19 kilometre long railway section, thus restoring the shortest rail route from the Mažeikiai refinery to Latvia, dismantled in 2008.

ORLEN to invest in production of new generation biofuel

PKN ORLEN and ORLEN Południe have signed an agreement providing for the construction of an advanced industrial unit that would produce second-generation bioethanol and describing the methods in which the project would be financed. Located at the Jedlicze refinery, the project would be the first of its kind in Poland and the second one in Europe. The unit would be capable of producing 25 thousand tonnes of bioethanol per year. The project is aligned with the ORLEN Group’s strategic objective to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. It would also strengthen Poland’s position on the European market for new generation biofuels.

Baltic Power has held talks with potential suppliers on building supply chain for offshore wind project

Almost 600 representatives of 369 companies and institutions attended a meeting for those interested in collaboration on the Baltic Power project. Building a strong supply chain is now among the crucial steps leading up to the launch of this project, which is of strategic importance to the entire power sector. In line with the project’s schedule, the work will start in 2024 and be completed in 2026.

ORLEN Group to launch international hydrogen program

​The ORLEN Group is launching HYDROGEN EAGLE, an investment program to develop an international chain of hydrogen hubs powered by renewable energy sources and build innovative facilities to convert municipal waste into zero- and low-emission hydrogen. The project also provides for the construction of more than 100 hydrogen refuelling stations for individual, public and cargo transport.

PKN ORLEN secures oil supply contract

​PKN ORLEN has signed an oil supply contract with Rosneft, with the monthly contract volume amounting to 300,000 tonnes of oil, as agreed with the Russian partners during negotiations. The volume reduction will not affect the security of supplies to ORLEN Group refineries.
