Record-breaking transaction: ORLEN signs contract for 40 Polish locomotives

ORLEN Kolej, Poland’s second-largest rail freight operator, has signed a contract worth more than PLN 800 million for the delivery of 40 new locomotives. The order was awarded to Polish manufacturers PESA and Newag, which will jointly supply the ORLEN Group’s rail company with 40 modern locomotives expected to cover 5.5 million kilometres annually.

ORLEN signs gas supply contract with Naftogaz

ORLEN has signed a contract with its Ukrainian partner, Naftogaz, for the supply of 300 million cubic metres of natural gas from the US in the first quarter of 2026. The deal follows an agreement concluded between the companies during the Transatlantic Partnership for Energy and Climate (P-TEC) Summit, held in Athens in early November 2025.

ORLEN to supply US gas to Ukraine. Agreement signed for 2026 deliveries

ORLEN and Naftogaz have signed an agreement setting out the framework for a future gas supply contract. The Polish company will deliver over 300 million cubic metres of gas to its Ukrainian partner. The fuel will originate from American LNG cargoes received by ORLEN. The agreement was signed during the Atlantic Council conference on Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation, which was also attended by Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyka and Deputy Minister Wojciech Wrochna.

ORLEN Group’s corporate venture capital fund, ORLEN VC, has invested in Energy Impact Partners (EIP) – one of the world’s leading venture capital funds supporting climate, energy, and industrial technologies. Through this investment, ORLEN VC joins Flagship Fund III, EIP’s principal investment vehicle backing innovations that accelerate the decarbonisation of the economy and the transformation of the energy, refining, and fuels sectors. The initiative forms part of ORLEN’s long-term strategy aimed at achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

ORLEN Group integrates logistics services

Polish and Czech rail and transport companies within the ORLEN Group have finalised the consolidation process. ORLEN Kolej has acquired ORLEN Unipetrol Doprava, a company specialising in the transport of chemical products, while ORLEN Transport has taken over Petrotrans, one of the largest road fuel carriers in the Czech Republic. The transactions will strengthen the Group’s transport security in the refining and petrochemical sectors and unlock synergies in logistics, reinforcing the Group’s position in Europe.

ORLEN expands into a new market: first LNG delivery to Japan

ORLEN has completed its first delivery of 100 million cubic meters of natural gas to Japan, one of the world’s largest LNG importers. The new cooperation highlights ORLEN’s commercial and shipping capabilities and strengthens the Group’s position in the global LNG market. The cargo was supplied to Osaka Gas and transported by gas carrier Ignacy Jan Padarewski, the newest vessel in ORLEN’s fleet.

ORLEN VC invests in breakthrough technology to produce synthetic aviation fuel

The corporate venture capital fund ORLEN VC has invested in a pioneering technology that converts zero-emission hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide into synthetic sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF). The innovative solution, developed by UK start-up OXCCU, will support the ORLEN Group’s strategy to expand its role in decarbonising air transport from 2030 onwards, in accordance with the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation.

ORLEN partners with Google Cloud to step up AI adoption

ORLEN has entered into an agreement with Google Cloud to advance the adoption of artificial intelligence across its business. The partnership will provide the Group with cutting-edge solutions to develop integrated digital tools, particularly in retail and energy, allowing it to respond more effectively to customer needs. The agreement covers advanced data analytics and data science, the development of a modern data platform, and the acquisition of new digital skills.
