ORLEN VC invests in breakthrough technology to produce synthetic aviation fuel

The corporate venture capital fund ORLEN VC has invested in a pioneering technology that converts zero-emission hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide into synthetic sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF). The innovative solution, developed by UK start-up OXCCU, will support the ORLEN Group’s strategy to expand its role in decarbonising air transport from 2030 onwards, in accordance with the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation.

ORLEN partners with Google Cloud to step up AI adoption

ORLEN has entered into an agreement with Google Cloud to advance the adoption of artificial intelligence across its business. The partnership will provide the Group with cutting-edge solutions to develop integrated digital tools, particularly in retail and energy, allowing it to respond more effectively to customer needs. The agreement covers advanced data analytics and data science, the development of a modern data platform, and the acquisition of new digital skills.

ORLEN achieves CIPS certification, confirming global procurement standards

ORLEN has been awarded a quality certification by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), recognising that its procurement processes meet the highest international standards. The company successfully met the stringent criteria set by the world’s leading professional body for procurement and supply, joining a distinguished group of global organisations that hold this accreditation. Each year, ORLEN carries out nearly 5,000 procurement procedures, including 1,000 with a contract value exceeding PLN 1 million, across more than 300 spend categories covering areas such as investment, production, and distribution.

ORLEN signs first long-term oil supply contract with Equinor

ORLEN has signed a contract with Equinor for the supply of more than 6 million tonnes of crude oil from the Johan Sverdrup field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The contracted volume will cover about 15% of the ORLEN Group’s annual oil demand. Deliveries under this first annual contract with the Norwegian company will begin in September.

ORLEN and Synthos reach agreement paving the way for Poland’s first SMR nuclear power plant in Włocławek

Equalisation of partner rights, secured access to U.S. technology, designation of the first project site, and agreement on the next steps – ORLEN has successfully concluded negotiations on the operating model of OSGE. The agreement with Synthos paves the way for tangible steps that will lead to the development of Poland’s first small modular reactor (SMR) plant, to be constructed in Włocławek – a site selected by ORLEN.

ORLEN Group reports robust Q2 2025 performance with strong profit growth

The ORLEN Group delivered excellent financial results in the second quarter of 2025, nearly doubling its LIFO-based EBITDA year on year to PLN 9.2 billion. Net profit for the period amounted to PLN 1.8 billion. In the first six months of 2025, the Group invested close to PLN 14 billion in strategic growth projects advancing energy transition.

ORLEN’s transformation to gain momentum with CEE’s largest AI deployment

ORLEN is consistently pursuing its strategic agenda, aimed at ensuring energy security across the region and stable supply of affordable energy to Polish citizens. Yet a successful energy transition cannot be achieved without digital tools. This is why the ORLEN Group, in collaboration with Microsoft, is undertaking the largest AI deployment in CEE. The solutions being implemented will enhance not only its energy operations, but also cybersecurity, production processes, data analysis and overall workforce efficiency across the Group.

ORLEN and Naftogaz with new gas supply contract

Over the next months, ORLEN will supply 140 million cubic metres of natural gas under a new contract with Ukraine’s Naftogaz. The gas, sourced from the United States, will be regasified at the LNG terminal in Świnoujście before being transported to Ukraine. The contract secures continued gas supply to the Ukrainian market in the coming months and plays a crucial role in bolstering the country’s energy security ahead of the heating season.

ORLEN ends ties with Russian oil, securing energy independence for entire region

The ORLEN Group has taken consistent steps toward strengthening the energy security of Poland and the wider region. Since March 2025, all of the Group’s refineries have been supplied exclusively with crude oil sourced outside of Russia. The final contract for Russian oil deliveries expired at the end of June, marking the complete elimination of Russian crude from ORLEN’s supply chain. This means that ORLEN – and, by extension, the entire region – is no longer bound by any agreements with Russian entities for the supply of oil.
