ORLEN opens up to e-fuelling

Electric car quick recharging points will appear at the ‘star’ service stations in Germany, with similar facilities also to be installed at the ORLEN Group’s stations in Poland and the Czech Republic later this year. This has been made possible thanks to PKN ORLEN’s collaboration with Tesla, a US-based manufacturer of electric cars and a leader in quick charging technologies.

The Energy Union – an opportunity to bring Europe back on the path to sustainable development

According to one of the Recommendations developed at the 5th European Financial Congress, which ended this week, Europe needs an Energy Union, based on a bold concept and carefully implemented, if it is to regain its lost competitiveness and trigger a revival of European industry. Energy Union − a compromise for growth and good energy

The running theme of the European Financial Congress inaugurated yesterday is European integration in the context of a security crisis. In a debate which PKN ORLEN helped to organise and which was hosted by Joschka Fisher, German Vice-Chancellor in 1998−2005, participants discussed the fundamental role a cohesive energy policy needs to play in tackling the various challenges we are facing today. The speakers in a discussion on a viable model for a European Energy Union that would make the continent more secure and competitive included Andrzej Dycha, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy, Oliver Koch, representing the European Commission, and Jacek Krawiec, President of the PKN ORLEN Management Board.

PKN ORLEN’s Q1 2015 consolidated financial results

In Q1 2015, PKN ORLEN generated LIFO-based EBITDA of PLN 1.9bn. This good performance is attributable both to the supportive macroeconomic environment (higher downstream margin, low oil prices), and to the Company’s improved efficiency and year-on-year growth in sales volumes in the Downstream and Retail segments. In the Power segment, the growth-oriented industrial cogeneration projects in Włocławek and Płock were continued. Despite the adverse impact of lower crude oil prices on the Upstream segment, average daily production from the Canadian assets reached 6,700 boe/d, with rationalised expenditure in this business area. Over the first three months of 2015, PKN ORLEN reduced its debt by PLN (-) 0.6bn. The Company continued its dividend policy, and the Management Board recommended distribution of dividend of PLN 1.65 per share.
