Successful issue of ORLEN seven-year bonds

The recent offering of ORLEN bonds has attracted nearly three times as much interest as initially expected. This prompted us to increase the issue value: on Monday, investors will acquire debt securities with an aggregate value of PLN 1bn. Within months, the bonds may be introduced to trading on the Catalyst market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Mobile website m.orlen.pl makes driving easier

PKN ORLEN has launched a “light” version of its corporate website http://m.orlen.pl, designed to be accessed via mobile devices. Thus, internet users have been offered a modern communication channel through which they can access essential corporate information. The Company has also made available a mobile service station locator.

PKN ORLEN’s consolidated financial performance after four quarters of 2011

2011 was a difficult year for the refining industry in the CEE region. A low refining margin and volatile URAL/BRENT differential, coupled with surging oil prices and depreciation of the złoty, were factors which had an adverse effect on PKN ORLEN's performance in 2011. The refining segment just broke even, while the retail segment's operating profit nearly halved. The only area of PKN ORLENS’s operations which posted a substantial growth was the petrochemical segment. In the retail segment, though, low margins were offset by a strong rise in sales volumes.

ORLEN in the 4th edition of the prestigious RESPECT Index

Once again PKN ORLEN joined the elite group of companies included in the RESPECT Index portfolio, which comprises socially responsible businesses. Experts selecting listed companies for inclusion in the index concluded that PKN ORLEN meets the applicable, very demanding, criteria and requirements. PKN ORLEN has been part of the index since the index’s launch.

PKN ORLEN signs a new contract for crude oil supplies until 2014

A new long-term contract providing for crude oil supplies to the Płock plant was signed today by PKN ORLEN with Souz Petrolium. The contract, which is to replace the agreement with Petraco due to expire at the end of this year, is worth c.a. PLN 19.4 billion.

PKN ORLEN to import gas from Germany

Next year, the ORLEN Group will import approximately 90 million cubic metres of natural gas from the western direction. The gas will be delivered by RWE Supply & Trading GmbH and Entrade Grupa Sp. z o.o. to PKN ORLEN's plant in Płock and to Anwil in Włocławek.

ORLEN Upstream: the first Polish company with a CIPS certificate

On Tuesday, 22 November, ORLEN Upstream was awarded the CIPS certificate of excellence, which puts the company alongside giants such as Microsoft, British Airways, Vodafone, or Hewlett Packard. The certificate issued by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply confirms best practice in purchasing and supply management processes and guarantees that the company is following global standards.

New contract between ORLEN Lietuva and Klaipedos Nafta

Today in Vilnius, ORLEN Lietuva, a member of the ORLEN Group, signed a new contract with the Lithuanian seaport Klaipedos Nafta, concerning reloading of petroleum products. The contract will continue in force until the end of 2024. On behalf of the companies the contract was signed by Ireneusz Fąfara, CEO of ORLEN Lietuva, and Rokas Masilius, CEO of Klaipedos Nafta.

Polish transaction of the year finalised

On November 9th 2011, all existing shareholders of Polkomtel S.A. transferred their shares in the company to Spartan Capital Holdings Sp. z o.o., which means completion of one of the largest transactions in the European telecommunications sector over the last few years.
