EBRD supports PKN ORLEN’s investments in environmental protection and power generation

Today, PKN ORLEN and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed an agreement for a EUR 250m loan to be used by PKN Orlen to finance environmental protection projects and improve the energy efficiency of the CHP plant in Płock. The planned investments are expected to reduce compounds emissions from the CHP plant by 90%. The financing will be available until 2018.

ORLEN holds a clear lead among Polish investors in Germany

PKN ORLEN has been doubly honoured in the " Eagles of Polish Business in Germany" awards, designed to commend the best Polish investors and entrepreneurs operating in the Federal Republic of Germany. PKN ORLEN’s CEO, Jacek Krawiec, received the Grand Prix – the most important of the trophies awarded today – at the hands of Mrs Danuta Wałęsa and Chairman of the Economic Council of the Prime Minister Jan Krzysztof Bielecki. Moreover, a distinction in the "Trade" category went to the CEO of ORLEN Deutschland, Józef Niedworok. The judging panel of the first edition of the award, organised by the Lech Wałęsa Institute, commended the company's ability to successfully do business on the highly demanding market.

PKN ORLEN becomes Presidency Partner

PKN ORLEN has transferred fuel cards worth almost PLN 1m to support the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. For its support of the organisation and promotion of the Polish EU Presidency, the Company has received the prestigious title of Presidency Partner.

Launch of Europe’s most advanced PX/PTA complex

PKN ORLEN has launched Europe’s most advanced petrochemical complex for paraxylene and terephthalic acid production (PX/PTA). Present at the event marking the launch was Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The new complex, which is Poland's first and the most efficient complex of its kind in Europe, comprises facilities located at PKN ORLEN’s plant in Płock (paraxylene production) and in Włocławek (terephthalic acid production). The project was completed in a record short time of three years and cost more than EUR 1bn.

PKN ORLEN launches pilot sales of BIO85 for Flexifuel vehicles (FFV)

PKN ORLEN is Poland’s first fuel company to add to its offering the innovative biofuel BIO85. With its launch, PKN ORLEN wants to accommodate the ever stringent requirements of the National Indicative Target, whereby oil companies are required to gradually increase the share of bio-components in total fuel sales.

Largest debt refinancing transaction in Poland

PKN ORLEN S.A. has executed a new credit facility agreement with a syndicate of 14 banks, which allows the Company to refinance four credit facilities on more favourable terms and secures access to bank financing for the next five years. The maximum amount of financing available to PKN ORLEN under the new credit facility is more than EUR 2.6bn, that is over PLN 10bn.
