PKN ORLEN in the 19th World Petroleum Congress

PKN ORLEN will participate in the 19th World Petroleum Congress and the accompanying exhibition that will take place between June and July in Madrid. The corporation will set up a booth in the exhibition hall to present its operations.

Majority of bio-ethanol from Polish suppliers

PKN ORLEN has adjudicated on a tender for supplies of bio-ethanol in Q2 2008. The majority of volumes will be secured from Polish suppliers. All bio-ethanol suppliers have been selected via an internet auction.

PKN ORLEN first quarter 2008 results

Significantly improved financial results compared to Q1 2007: EBITDA up almost PLN 160m, operating profit up PLN 190m and net profit attributable to shareholders of the holding company up PLN 577m. Operating cash flow is also up while financial leverage is down.

New premium fuel at ORLEN Deutschland

ORLEN Deutschland has introduced Star 98 – a premium petrol now available across the German network. The fuel is aimed at drivers interested in top quality at a reasonable price. The new petrol can be used in any petrol-powered cars including oldtimers and the latest models of BMW and Porsche.

Letter of Intent between PKN ORLEN and Scania Poska

PKN ORLEN and Scania Polska has today signed a Letter of Intent regarding the marketing of bio-ethanol based fuels in the Polish market. The co-operation envisages the test project over the fuel, within which PKN ORLEN shall ensure the laboratory research of the bio-fuel (E95) and Scania Polska will introduce into the Polish market vehicles specially adapted to be powered with bio-ethanol. Both companies will also jointly carry out the exploitation trials together with these local authorities that will be interested in hosting eco-transportation. Moreover, authorized R&D laboratories will also be involved into the undertaking.

Re. Polkomtel

Today, PKN ORLEN has received a sentence from the Arbitration Court in Vienna that clears Vodafone’s plaint against the Agreement signed in 2006 between Polish shareholders of Polkomtel and TDC. Following the sentence, the Agreement is binding and valid. At the same time the verdict gives Vodafone the right to receive the notice informing of changes in TDC ownership. For Vodafone, this opens a path to purchase the relevant number of shares of Polkomtel.

PKN ORLEN selected new suppliers of esters

PKN ORLEN is continuing to meet the 2008 national bio-fuel target. The Company has signed a contract for supplies of esters for diesel production and for distribution as a self-contained fuel.

Azeri crude for ORLEN

Two tankers with the Azeri crude oil for PKN ORLEN are already at berth in Gdansk sea harbour. They transported over 200,000 tonnes of crude which are being deposited in the PERN storage facilities. Pumped via the Pomerania pipeline, the first volumes of the Azeri are expected to be processed in Plock tomorrow morning.
