PKN ORLEN has launched ‘Innovations, Start-ups’, an online cooperation and knowledge sharing-platform devoted to new technological solutions. This modern communication tool, more and more widely embraced by the most innovative companies, is designed to facilitate networking in order to develop innovation, also based on the ‘reverse coaching’ philosophy which brings benefits to both sides. The new website is targeted mainly at the start-up and innovator community and is available at www.innowacje.orlen.pl.

Metathesis project approved for execution

The annual propylene output of PKN ORLEN’s Production Plant in Płock will be increased by 100 thousand tonnes, as one of its key petrochemical projects has been approved by the Management and Supervisory Boards and is entering the execution stage. The project will increase the Płock Plant’s propylene production to 550 thousand tonnes per year.

Construction of CCGT unit in Włocławek − new arrangements

PKN ORLEN concluded with the consortium of companies (General Electric International Inc. acting via General Electric International S.A., office in Poland and SNC-LAVALIN POLSKA sp. z o.o.) an annex to the agreement for building power plant in Wloclawek. The Annex defines further steps related to defects detected during commissioning.

PKN ORLEN arranges crude oil supplies to its Czech refinery

PKN ORLEN has signed the annex to the contract with Rosneft Oil Company for crude oil supplies to Unipetrol in the Czech Republic. The annex provides for flexibility in the supply volumes – approx. 2,9 million tonnes to approx. 5 million tonnes per year. Today, PKN ORLEN has also signed a contract with Tatneft for the supply of approximately 600,000 tonnes of crude oil annually to its Czech refinery.

ORLEN Group increases its share in Czech retail market

Unipetrol, a subsidiary of PKN ORLEN, will acquire 68 service stations which are now part of OMV’s assets in the Czech Republic. The new acquisitions will operate under the Benzina brand. Conditions for closing the transaction include clearance from the Czech anti-trust authority.

‘First fire’ − Włocławek CCGT plant’s gas turbine comes online

The 463 MWe CCGT unit in Włocławek has been successfully fired up, with the gas turbine reaching the target rotation speed of 3,000 rpm. This marks another stage of the start-up phase to be completed in the middle of this year.
