PKN ORLEN secures clearance from Czech National Bank to acquire Unipetrol

​PKN ORLEN has secured clearance from the Czech National Bank for the purchase of Unipetrol shares representing approximately 5.97% of the company’s share capital. The approval paves the way for a squeeze-out at a price of CZK 380 per share that is fair to both PKN ORLEN and the minority shareholders.

ORLEN to take full control of Czech-based Unipetrol

PKN ORLEN Supervisory Board has approved the acquisition of the remaining shares in Unipetrol, representing approximately 5.97% of its share capital. PKN ORLEN intends to offer CZK 380 per share, the price offered in the tender offer announced in December 2017, which received positive responses from Unipetrol shareholders holding a total of more than 31% shares. The transaction will be finalised – among other things – upon its clearance by the Czech National Bank.

ORLEN committed to promoting advancement of electric mobility

​By investing in electric mobility PKN ORLEN may be able to bear the costs of the emissions charge without passing them onto customers. The Company has stepped up its programme of building electric vehicle charging infrastructure by selecting a total of 150 service stations in urban areas and on main transit roads to deploy electric chargers. During the initial phase of the pilot programme around 50 fast charging points will be deployed by the end of 2019.

PKN ORLEN to construct its own network of electric vehicle chargers in Poland

The Company is launching a pilot project to install fast chargers for electric vehicles at its service stations. A RFP for 23 (50 kW and 100 kW) chargers has just been released.
