Rotch Energy invites PKN ORLEN to participate in their bid for Gdansk Refinery

Today UK based Rotch Energy officially invited PKN ORLEN to enter into negotiations with them in respect of their bid for 75 per cent stake in Gdansk Refinery, the second largest refinery in Poland. The invitation was received, following an announcement by the Polish Government on amendments to its programme of restructuring and privatisation of the Polish oil sector.

PKN ORLEN to sell shares of LG Petro Bank

On 23rd September 2002 Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN signed an agreement with Nordea Bank Sweden AB (publ) ("Nordea") upon which Nordea wishes to purchase 4,450,708 shares of LG Petro Bank S.A. ("LG Petro Bank") from PKN ORLEN. The purchase of the above stake, which accounts for 19.9 per cent of the initial capital of LG Petro Bank, shall be realised through a public call / summon.

The Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting of PKN ORLEN approved the financial statements of the Capital Group. At today's Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting, the shareholders of PKN ORLEN approved the Directors' Report on the activities of the Capital Group and the Capital Group's consolidated financial statements for the 2001 fiscal year. Moreover, the shareholders approved the planned lease or disposal of some parts of the Company's business.
