Marek Balawejder
Member of the Management Board, Retail Sales
Marek Balawejder has 30 years of experience in Polish and international companies, including those listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Since August 2024, he has served as a Member of the Management Board for Consumers & Products at ORLEN S.A., overseeing the newly established segment and marketing within the ORLEN Capital Group. He is responsible for consolidating and integrating the fuel station business with the offerings of PGNiG Retail and Energa Retail. The goal is to efficiently provide Polish consumers with access to all available energy sources and related services through a multi-energy offering. This offering will be delivered via an energy marketplace currently being developed based on the Vitay loyalty platform.
From 1995 to 2009, he held various positions at companies such as PepsiCo, Polkomtel, Raiffeisen, and Action.
Between 2009 and 2016, he served as President of the Management Board of Orlen Gaz and Executive Director for Retail Sales at PKN ORLEN. His key responsibilities included restructuring Orlen Gaz and developing a new strategy for the retail business, laying the foundation for the current success of ORLEN’s fuel stations.
From 2017 to 2024, he worked as an investor, consultant, and interim manager, delivering projects for companies such as Eurocash, Metro Group, Sfinks, Esoleo (part of the Polsat Plus Group), and Benefit Systems. He held roles including General Manager at Metro Convenience Czech Republic, Management Board Member at Fit Invest International, and supervisory board member in several foreign subsidiaries of the Benefit Systems Group.
He holds a degree in pedagogy from the University of Physical Education and completed postgraduate studies in Management and Marketing at Kozminski University. He also earned an MBA from the Warsaw School of Economics and completed the Advanced Management Program at Kozminski University in cooperation with EADA Business School in Barcelona. He is currently pursuing a “Board Director Diploma” at IMD Business School in Switzerland.
