The ORLEN Group’s strategy is aligned with the global trends where the role of renewable energy and advanced petrochemicals is getting ever more prominent. Our objective is to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Planned progress towards this target is defined in our strategy and the ORLEN Group Climate Policy.

ORLEN Group Climate Policy
The shifting global trends present new business opportunities, but also mean we have to operate in a highly volatile environment. Our business strategy addresses the issue of climate change, new regulations, as well as the expectations of our customers and investors. The ORLEN Group Climate Policy is a complementary document, where we discuss climate-related risks and opportunities. It consists of four main parts:
- key strategic objectives and measures with respect to climate change mitigation and adaptation,
- risk management processes with the findings of an assessment of climate-related risks and opportunities,
- overview of the structure of corporate bodies responsible for managing climate-related risks and opportunities,
- information on our decarbonisation targets and carbon footprint.
We prepared the document in accordance with the guidelines of the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, established at the Financial Stability Board), which aim to ensure a consistent standard of reporting on financial risks associated with climate impacts by individual companies.
