PGNiG: Termination of LNG supply contract with Port Arthur LNG, LLC

Further to the Current Report No. 63/2018 of December 19th 2018, the Management Board of Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A. (“PGNiG”, the “Company”) hereby announces that on July 27th 2021 the termination of long-term contract of December 19th, 2018 (“Contract”) for the supply of liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) was sent to Port Arthur LNG, LLC, a subsidiary of Sempra LNG, LLC.
The Contract has provided for the purchase by PGNiG of approximately 2 million tonnes of LNG (i.e. approximately 2.7 bcm of natural gas after regasification) annually for 20 years from Port Arthur LNG, LLC liquefaction unit in Jefferson County, Texas with originally planned construction completion date set not earlier than 2023.
PGNiG also announces that the Company will conduct talks with Sempra LNG, LLC concerning potential cooperation in the field of LNG supplies from other Sempra LNG, LLC portfolio projects.
The announcement of information on the intention to terminate the Contract for the supply of LNG with Port Arthur LNG, LLC a subsidiary of Sempra LNG, LLC was delayed on July 13th 2021 until today pursuant to Article 17(4) of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 16th 2014 on market abuse and repealing Directive 2003/6/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and Commission Directives 2003/124/EC, 2003/125/EC and 2004/72/EC.
