An appeal to the Anti-Trust District Court

Under Art. 81 par. 1, item 2 of the Law on Public Trading of Securities dated 21 August, 1997 (Official Journal of Bills No 118, item 754 with the later amendments) the Management Board of Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. wishes to announce that on August 2, 2000 PKN ORLEN S.A. lodged via the Polish Office for Protection of Competition and Consumers (OPCC) an appeal to the Anti-Trust District Court in Warsaw against the OPCC’s decision (RWA – 17/2000 of July 19, 2000) ordering Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. to desist from monopolistic practices consisting in overuse of a dominant position in domestic mono-ethylene glycol market. The OPCC’s decision was reported by PKN ORLEN in current report 53/2000/51 of July 21, 2000.

PKN ORLEN S.A. lodges to the Anti-Trust District Court in Warsaw to change the decision in whole and remit proceedings in the case, or to reverse the decision and pass it back to the OPCC for reconsideration.
