Fiscal Office in Rzeszow lodged against the outcome of the Polish Tax Authorities claiming underpaid excise tax

The Management Board of Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. wishes to announce that on October 2, 2000 Fiscal Office in Rzeszow, having heard the appeal of the Jedlicze refinery lodged on July 27, 2000 against the outcome of the Polish Tax Authorities claiming underpaid excise tax of PLN 5.012.458,00 for the month of February 1998 plus proper interest charges, notified the Jedlicze refinery that the outcome of the Polish Tax Authorities has been wholly reversed.

The Fiscal Office sent the case to the Polish Tax Chamber for further review. As a result of the above the Jedlicze refinery received from Fiscal Office in Krosno an amount of PLN 10.292.842,40 due to underpaid excise tax including proper interest charges.
