A new unit for hydrodesulphurisation of diesel oils
Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. (PKN ORLEN), Central Europe's largest downstream oil company, today announced the launch of a new unit for hydrodesulphurisation of diesel oils. It will have an annual capacity of 1.6 m tonnes and has the capability to produce diesel oil to the highest standards currently envisaged in the EU.
The No. VI Plock-based plant uses a state-of-the-art SYN-SAT process which allows the production of diesel oils with sulphur characteristics of 50 ppm and polyaromatic chains content below 11 per cent.
The launch of this unit marks another significant step in the development of our production capability. It shows PKN Orlen's concern to produce diesel oil meeting technological Auto Oil 2005 standards. Thanks to a newly opened unit in the year 2001 PKN Orlen will be ready to produce 50 per cent of its diesel oil volume according to Auto Oil 2005 standards.
