Mr Grzegorz Zarebski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PKN ORLEN has resigned

Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. ("PKN ORLEN"), Central Europe's largest downstream oil company, announces today that Mr Grzegorz Zarebski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PKN ORLEN, has tendered his resignation to the Company's Management Board. The Management Board of PKN ORLEN will inform the Extraordinary General Assembly of Shareholders being held on December 15, 2000. His replacement will be elected at this meeting.

Mr Zarebski's resignation is due to the fact that he has been appointed as CEO of Huta Ostrowiec S.A.

At the same time the Company announces that Mr Andrzej Bankowski, Secretary of the Supervisory Board of PKN ORLEN S.A., has also tendered his resignation, on being appointed as Director in charge of Quality Control of the company.

Both resignations will be formalised at the Extraordinary General Assembly of Shareholders.
